The device emits ultrasonic pulses at 40 kHz. The pulses block Haller's organ in ticks, which they use to target their host.

When the Haller organ remains blocked, ticks are unable to hunt effectively. The ultrasonic sounds emitted by Tickless are inaudible and completely harmless to humans and pets.
